These days you can get used laptops at very cheap rates. However, before purchasing the same, you need to ensure that they satisfy the minimum requirements that a cheap used laptop should possess.
However cheap they are, check whether they meet your needs as you should be worth buying it.
There are seven requirements that have to be satisfied. Let’s go through them.
1. Processor Size:
It has to be a Core 2 Duo processor. That is what the experts opine.
2. Memory Capacity:
The memory storage capacity has to be a minimum of 1GB. However, you can go for more, if you are willing to pay accordingly.
3. Hard drive Size:
The minimum size is 80 GB. With this size you can store quite a lot of MP3’s and photographs. If necessary, you can go for higher sizes according to your preferences.
4. Limited warranty:
Minimum limited warranty of 1 year has to be provided. Again if you need more years of warranty, then you will have to pay more.
5. Video card – If the laptop is bought mainly for gaming:
A video card is required, if gaming is your main purpose of buying a cheap used laptop. The same will cost you more.
6. Preferred internet connection:
Wi-Fi network connection is enabled by the in built wireless networking in a laptop. Inclusion of a modem to dial-up connection is not there in most of the laptops. The local area network connectors for broadband are standard. You should ensure the same before you buy the laptop.
7. Optical drives:
Both DVD-ROM and CD burner drive has to be featured in a cheap used laptop. With the facility of the same, you can enjoy music CD’s and DVD movies.
The storage capacity of a DVD burner is six times better as compared to a CD burner. Floppy drives are not supported by laptops.
Therefore just make sure that you have made the right choice by keeping the above mentioned points in your mind, while buying a cheap used laptop.
