Tips to make a cheap Computer Desk

Building a PC desk is not a tough job as you think. The only thing you have to do is planning, before start to build. If you want to place more computer peripherals, it is best to build a spacious desk. While you design the desk as you like, you will get maximum satisfaction and you can save money too. You can easily create a homemade desk with minimum investment.

Things to buy
Before you go for actual process, it is better to check whether you have needed things like solid tabletop, 4 solid wood legs, open shelf unit, file cabinets, wood glue, pencil, piece of cardboard etc.

Some of the prominent instructions are given in this article to construct a sturdy desk.
• Search the salvage yards and economy stores for your desktop. Find an old solid wood table which is not warped or buckled. If the wood is strong-enough, it will last longer. Look for an open shelf unit which is needed for fitting on the top side of your desk which serves as a hutch.
• It is important to check the quality of the legs of your table. It must be strong and check whether the legs are joined properly. If not, place the table upside down and tighten the nuts. Remove any extra legs and check whether the legs are broken or damaged.
• Filing cabinets are essential to keep all your files safely. It is advisable to put file cabinets underneath of your table top. Two inches gap is a must between the wall and the table top for inserting cords or cables.
• Open shelf unit is mostly placed in right of your computer desk. If you are a left-handed person, you can reverse it. Keep the unit in the centre and pencil mark the exact position.
• Polish the bottom surface of the shelf unit which gives it an impressive look. You may use glue along the bottom. Set it on the back side of tabletop and press hardly. Keep some weight on the top for fast solid contact of glue with the desk. Wait until the glue dries completely and use small piece of cardboard for removing any extra glue around if any.
• In this final stage, you can place your PC and needed components. Connect them using cords behind the tabletop. If the glue is dried completely, you can now arrange your supplies in the open shelf. Finally your homemade computer desk is ready to use and that too at a cheap cost.
